First off let me say our store is to pay homage to all the pets who have gone before us and my black lab Sadie who recently I had to put to rest. It is also to pay homage to my father and mother who started the business. Now I bet your wondering how this chicken plays into everything right? Well sit right there and let me tell you of a man named Phil that I love with a passion to this day still. He's my father and he owed a poultry farm and raised chickens you see. The name of the business back then was Kahl's Poultry Farm. He also ran a processing plant to dress them out as well.  Well the local catfish anglers would stop out and buy the entrails (guts for lack of a better word) to use as bait to go catfishing. This went along for some time and they asked my father "If you put in some rods and reels and perhaps some fishing tackle we would buy it from you rather than from someone else." Well my father pondered the idea for a bit and finally told them "Yes I'll do that." So that was the start of the business! Later these same anglers came to him again and asked "Would you put in some fishing boats?" Well once again my father said "yes" However the first boats he had were more of a runabout than a fishing boat. There might have been something in that first line cant remember but I do remember he got them out of Yankton, S.D. from a man by the name of George Star. He was a distributor for them. The first actual fishing boats we had to the best of my knowledge were the Alumacraft line. That was the first major brand we handled. Now we had always prided ourselves with going with major brands. Now you can't have a boat without something to push it right? Well another major brand at the time Evinrude was the outboard motor line we decided on. Ole Evinrude was the first one tp produce the outboard motor. Now this might be getting off track a wee bit but want to tell you a bit of why he produced that outboard. You see his sweetheart lived across a lake and he wanted some way to reach her without rowing. Now also you can't have a boat and motor without some way to get it to the water am I right so here comes a trailer! The first line we were with was Spartan. Later we took on the line of Shoreland'r. The next line of boats we took on was Lund. While selling them I got to meet such fishing celebrities as Tony Dean and AL Linder. Later we also took on the line of Thompson boats. Famous for their wooden boats as some of you old boating buffs will remember. Other major lines we handled were Gruman famous for their canoes and jon boats. Poulan chain saws and Ariens lawn and garden. My father passed away the day after Thanksgiving and for many a year I hated to see the holidays come as seemed some relation was always dyeing on them. After my father died I didn't quite know what to do with the business that was well over 50 years old but I had moved on by that point in life and finally decided to shut it down. Years later I started Blue Illusion Products selling marine supplies from one of our old distributors I remembered back when we were going who agreed to take me on as a online dealer. Now years later Blue Illusion Products is back! I will tell you we do everything in our power to have you put your trust in us selling urns now. We know only you can make this happen once again.
